Thanks to Ads of the World (and other sites), anyone can take a look at advertising from all over the world. A lot of the international work is very good. Some of it isn’t.
Like this ad for Comedy Central in Germany:
The illlustration is very cool. The headline is flat, but makes sense within the illustration. But what is the idea here?
I see nothing in the illustration that is relevant to Comedy Central or laughing, there is no supporting copy that ties it together…I am not feeling this. Yes, as a content provider with a younger target, Comedy Central has an almost MTV-like freedom to be weird for weird’s sake (hey, it’s content!), but still. And ad should have an idea.
There is no idea here.
